BE INFORMED!! |
Press Conference and Rally for Religious Liberty at Department of Justice Accomplishes Every Stated Goal According to previously published press releases, the stated goals of the gathering were threefold: 1) Present a letter to the Department of Justice outlining the unconstitutionality of the new Hate Crimes Law. 2) Proclaim testimonials from those who have been discriminated against and victimized because of their Christian faith. 3) Preach the Biblical condemnation of homosexuality. Either be arrested and get this unconstitutional law into the courts or establish undeniable precedent that Preachers and Christians can still declare the whole counsel of God without fear of prosecution. Mission accomplished! The gathering of various Christian ministers and organizational representatives included Pierre Bynum of Family Research Council, Rick Scarborough of Vision America, Gary Cass of the Christian Anti Defamation Commission, Bishop Earl Jackson of STAND America, Paul Blair of Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ, Steve Kern of Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ, Dan Fisher of Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ, Matt Barber of Liberty Council, Paul Diamond of Christian Legal Centre in London, Jim Garlow of Protect Marriage CA, Janet Porter of Faith2Action, J. Grace Harley of Jesus is the Answer Ministry, Pat Mahoney of Christian Defense Coalition, Michael Marcavage of Repent America, Linda Beckman of Repent America, Scott Lively or Abiding Truth Ministries and Gordon Klingenshmitt of Pray in Jesus Name. This conference is not the end of the battle for Christian liberty, but the beginning. To quote the words of the Patriot and American Naval Hero of the War for Independence when asked if he would surrender, American Admiral John Paul Jones declared defiantly, “I have not yet begun to fight!” Where are the gangs of Christians supposedly roaming the streets looking for homosexuals and Muslims to terrorize? They don’t exist. You can rest assured that the liberal media would be trumpeting these cases if they existed, but they don’t because there are none. Disgustingly, the radical homosexual lobby continues to take Matthew Shepard’s name in vane as this legislation deceptively carries his name in its title, even though ABC’s 20/20 reported five years ago that, “money and drugs motivated their (the criminal’s) actions that night, not hatred of gays.” In fact, former Laramie Police Detective Ben Fritzen, one of the lead investigators in the case, believed robbery was the primary motive stating clearly, "Matthew Shepard's sexual preference or sexual orientation certainly wasn't the motive in the homicide.” Knowing these facts, the liberal activists in the 111th Congress succeeded in forcing through the unnecessary and unconstitutional Hate Crimes legislation even resorting to an underhanded political strategy in order to accomplish their goal. Instead of letting the bill stand on its own merits, it was attached to the Defense Authorization Act for 2010 and thus placing conservative Senators in a dilemma. If a Senator wished to continue funding our military, then they were forced to vote for Hate Crimes. This question must be asked. With no real crisis, what was the motivation for forcing through Hate Crimes Legislation? The goal has always been to suppress religious speech and religious thought. Consider every nation or state that has enacted similar legislation. In 2004, Swedish Pastor Ake Green was arrested for preaching from Romans Chapter 1. He was charged with “disrespect” against homosexuals and sentenced to one month in jail. Disrespect is now considered a criminal offense under hate crimes laws. |

On October 10, 2004, a group of eleven Christians in Philadelphia were arrested for passing out gospel tracts and telling people about Jesus during a taxpayer funded event celebrating homosexuality called “Outfest”. Each of the eleven, including two grandmothers, was charged with five misdemeanors and three felonies including the Pennsylvania Hate Crimes law and faced a maximum of 47 years in a Federal penitentiary and up to $90,000 in fines. This past month, Peter
Vadala, an employee of the Brookstone store in the Boston Logan Airport was
fired from his job because of his Christianity. Knowing he was a Christian,
Peter’s lesbian boss approached him four times in the same day boasting of her
upcoming lesbian wedding. When he expressed his Biblical belief that
homosexuality was wrong, he was terminated. Add to all these actual events the statements made last month by Attorney General Eric Holder in a speech given to the Anti Defamation League. Holder claimed that Muslims and homosexuals were the two most discriminated against groups in America and also stated, “…the new hate crimes legislation will arrive not a moment too soon. And on the day that it becomes law, we will hasten to begin using it." Because of the overwhelming evidence that this Hate Crimes Law will eventually be used to suppress Christian speech, seventeen different pastors or representatives of various Christian organizations gathered on November 16, at the Department of Justice to present a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder outlining the unconstitutional elements of the new Hate Crimes law, address the media in a press conference and then preach short Bible based sermons on the subject of homosexuality. "If this law is used to silence me or any of these preachers for speaking the truth, then we will be forced to conscientiously defy it," Rick Scarborough, from Vision America, declared at the rally. "That is my calling as a Christian and my right as an American citizen."
Barrister Paul Diamond, from Cambridge, flew to America to participate in this press conference. Diamond praised the Christian group for immediately addressing this threat to free speech and sees America following the same destructive path as Great Britain. Diamond said, “Christians (in Britain) can be arrested for challenging Mohammed’s status as the final prophet.” He further added, “Recently, a high court judge ruled that Christianity is discriminatory and employers do not have to employ Christians.” During the press
conference, homosexuals carrying signs and waving rainbow flags crept closer and |

Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ report from the front lines
A Report from Inside the
This is a first hand report from one of our church families that made the trip to DC. The final paragraph reveals that the pro-Socialism side had anticipated a small showing by those the believe in defending our Constitution and that they had planned on bussing in people for a "counter demonstration" the next day. But after observing what the Parks department called "the largest gathering" they had ever seen, which various estimates range from 1.5 million to 3.5 million, the Socialists decided to cancel their plans.
An eyewitness account from Don and

Great response on short notice to CAIR’s “not so public” Forum on Friday, January 15 After promoting their event as a public forum and inviting the community to participate, CAIR made a late change of venue and instead of using a public building moved their event to a local Islamic center. Approximately 100 citizens showed up at the advertised location in Moore only to be met by police and told to leave the premises. That property is reportedly owned by a local Muslim businessman and although promoting a “public forum” and inviting the public to attend, savvy Christians were not welcome. These unwelcome citizens instead met at a local Moore restaurant. Former State Representative and current Fifth District Congressional Candidate Kevin Calvey addressed the gathering and held a press conference. CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) was officially established in 1994 with the stated purpose of political lobbying and public relations in America. A planning meeting for this new front group was held just months earlier as approximately 20 members of various Islamic organizations met in Philadelphia. Little did they know, the meeting was recorded by the FBI and used as evidence in the Holy Land Foundation trials. Attendee Shukri Abu Baker, who was found guilty in the Holy Land Foundation trial for helping finance Hamas and sentenced to 65 years in prison, was recorded saying about the strategy for this new front group (CAIR), "Let's not hoist a large Islamic flag and let's not be barbaric talking. We will remain a front..." He added, "War is deception. Deceive, camouflage...deceive your enemy." CAIR co-founder Omar Ahmad stated publicly in 1998 that Muslims were not to assimilate to American society but instead to deliver Islam's message. He also was quoted saying, "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America and Islam the only accepted religion on earth." Plans of "grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within" were revealed in documentation brought to light during the Holy Land Foundation trials where CAIR was listed as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the largest terror financing case in US history (funneling $60 million to Hamas). If Islam truly is a religion of tolerance, equal rights and peace (contrary to 1400 years of history and the evidence demonstrated in 56 Islamic countries around the world today), instead of crying “profiling”, CAIR should stand with us in protecting Americans from the alleged “few” that have allegedly “hijacked” their religion. To deny that Islam is a common denominator in these continuing acts of terrorism makes CAIR appear to be willing accomplices. But after all, the FBI recorded their plans, “We will remain a front…war is deception...deceive your enemy.” CAIR has chosen to place itself in the spotlight. As such, we will take this opportunity to educate the good people of Oklahoma as to what CAIR really is. Over the next few weeks, Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ will be sending out information via e-mail and adding posts on our web site to help educate you about CAIR and Islam. Incidentally, a local state newspaper reported that only nine people showed up to protest CAIR. It is interesting that at no time during the entire evening was a reporter from this paper seen at our gathering. No pictures were taken, no interviews requested or questions asked. As we have seen in past events that involve Bible believing Christians who promote Christian values, this particular paper has a difficult time with counting. It is sad, but what was once a great and trusted paper has resorted to liberal spin rather than objective journalism. |

Momentum Keeps Rolling
The fourth annual Reclaiming
Oklahoma for Christ conference, July 24-25, was another smashing success.
Another near capacity crowd on Friday night enjoyed educational and
inspirational messages from Janet Folger Porter, Lt. General Jerry Boykin,
Peter LaBarbera, and Dr. John Morris. The conference is intended to bring
believers together from all over the state to encourage them to take a
strong stand for truth in our decaying society. In addition, it is hoped
that the conference will help to awaken and activate pastors who, in turn,
will lead their congregations to join the struggle for the
The conference kicked off with
a stirring video detailing the Christian founding of America and ended with
a salute to our military as active duty servicemen joined each other on
stage in a salute to our flag and nation. The salute ended with a rousing
standing ovation. Janet Folger Porter, founder of Faith2Action, spoke first and reminded those in attendance that God is bigger than anyone or anything else and sits above the earth to insure that His people ultimately win the victory. She said that, although we may often feel like “grasshoppers in the fight,” we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. On Saturday afternoon, she challenged believers to attempt great things for God and reminded us that He often uses the most unlikely of candidates to do big things for Him. She ended by challenging believers to attempt “bigger things for God than we can do on our own.”
Peter LaBarbera, founder of
Americans for Truth, a
group dedicated to exposing the homosexual activist agenda, reminded the
crowd Friday night that Americans are in a battle to preserve the biblical
model for sex and marriage. He shared how the homosexual activists often
gain the upper hand by redefining the terms, misrepresenting the facts. No
one “labels” Christians as having a phobia for opposing pornography or
infidelity, yet when we stand against the sin of homosexuality the left
attempts to guilt believers into silence by labeling them as homophobes. He
urged believers to unapologetically stand for Biblical morality no matter
how loudly the homosexuals protest. On Saturday morning, Peter discussed
the medical risks of the homosexual lifestyle. He emphasized the irony of
our government’s attack on tobacco use while it essentially ignores the
proliferation of STD’s and AIDS by homosexuals. LaBarbera closed by
emphasizing that Christians do not hate homosexuals but rather, desire that
they experience the forgiveness and transformation that comes from knowing
Jesus.
Dr. John Morris, president of
the Institute for Creation Research, shared on Friday night that a “big God”
made a “big universe” because He has “big plans” intended for us. By
showing pictures of galaxies and star nebulae in far away heavenly places,
Dr. Morris “wowed” the crowd by giving suggestions to what Paul may have
meant when he wrote in Ephesians that believers will someday live in
heavenly places. On Saturday morning, Dr. Morris led a power point
slide tour through the actual fossil record which proves a “sudden” creation
and not gradual changes over millions of years. The fossils show animals
that were instantaneously buried in sediment; Dr. Morris explained how they
were actually victims of the flood of Noah’s day. Morris stressed that the evidence found in the fossil
record actually supports the Genesis account and should be a great
encouragement to believers. He ended by challenging Christians to
unashamedly share the biblical account of creation and use the Genesis
record to illustrate man’s fall into sin and his need
for a savior.

Truth Wins out at Proclamation for Morality
Shamefully, an opposition group that preaches tolerance but practices none showed up at the press conference working in conjunction with official members of the ACLU. The American Civil Liberties Union professes to be defenders of the freedom of speech, that is, unless you are a Christian. Representatives of these two pro-homosexual organizations were intent on drawing attention to themselves and filled the air with hate speech directed at Rep. Kern and the preachers that were assembled. But rather than let the devil win, the pastors broke out in hymns beginning with God Bless America, the Battle Hymn of the Republic, the National Anthem and others, successfully drowning out the would be rabble rousers. One pastor stated, “We have never gone to any of their scheduled events and press conferences. We’ve always left them completely alone. I would have thought they would show us the same respect.” Another added, “They accuse US of being intolerant. What a joke! I hope the media will report this blatant hypocrisy.” Rep. Kern apologized to the members of the media for not being able to take questions because of the tumult, but made arrangements to meet with the media and answer every question in an upstairs private location. After hearing one of the ACLU ringleaders loudly attempting to interrupt the program, one pastor quipped, “Well, I’d always wondered what it must have sounded like when Balaam’s donkey talked. Now I think I’ve got a pretty good idea.” It was an exciting day as God fearing, God honoring American citizens attempting to exercise their Constitutional rights of assembly, speech and petition, maintained a Christ-like attitude and behavior even in the face of intentional irritation. The ACLU and sodomite lobby held their own press conference 45 minutes after the first. They were given complete respect as not one member of the Christian group even stayed to watch. Once again, the ones accused of hate are really the recipients of hateful speech and hateful acts. And once again, those that scream out for tolerance refuse to tolerate anyone whose views differ from their own. We thank you for your prayers. It was a glorious day for truth. Please continue to pray for those members of the radical homosexual lobby. We pray that they get genuinely born again and become new creations in Christ Jesus. Remember to add your name to the online petition and one day we’ll send it to the White House and Capitol Hill. |
